So I was one of those skeptical ones about online Bible college. Really? Did it sound too good to be true to earn an online bible certificate from home while I was still working my full time job? Yes it did sound too good to be true, but the fact was that it is possible and I truly can obtain a biblical studies graduate degree online. The funny part about it to me was the forums and the chat rooms in the online learning center. These were other real people that I could interact with electronically as we all were trying to navigate the same paths towards a common goal. So me and this other student got to talking—typing—in the chat room and it turns out we are just a few towns over. We found a time for us to meet at a coffee shop in the middle on a day that worked for both of us. It turns out we have more in common than just location and major! We are both active in the same denomination of church, we single parents with one and two children, and we both enjoy the same types of Christian music. Now we hope to get together with our kids on a play date for them, and for us! It should be a hit. I find it so ironically funny to have met my new friend that although she was just a town or so over that it took an online Bible college to bring us together to meet.
